Franken was accused of forcibly touching and kissing at least half a dozen women, including touching the breasts of a woman while she was asleep. That may not fit the legal definition of rape, but that sure as hell is more than “sophomoric behavior.” You claim that I am minimizing what Biden allegedly did in order to draw a false comparison to Franken, when in fact you are the one minimizing what Franken did in order (I suspect) to argue that he should not have been forced to resigned but that Biden should have been. You are the one being incredibly disingenuous here.
At any rate, the comparison to Franken has nothing to do with what he was accused of, but rather, the politics surrounding the accusations against him. Franken’s resignation was an instance in which Democrats put accountability to Me Too over standing by one of their own. This blog post is an assessment of the reasons Democrats aren’t likely to do that again re: Biden.
